How It Works

  • In the first 3 weeks, we review past creative projects, and preferred gaming style to work out a good project to complete in 12 weeks.
  • We schedule our weekly meetings, and timeblock hours for creative flow.
  • 1 Weekly Check-in meetings to discuss accomplishments, what worked, what did not, and what you plan to do next week.
  • 1 or more Weekly Focus Sessions which are designated time to be creative on a specific task and make progress. Some of these focus sessions Ill attend to support on getting the task done.
  • No grades, no curriculum. Just momentum and a supportive person who takes your creative ideas seriously.
  • By the end, you’ll have at least one completed project.
  • Included is web hosting and tech support to set up a portfolio site or blog. This helps you land work that fits your creative strengths.

Let’s brainstorm ideas, work out a 12-week goal, and learn where you want to go. Then find a time for weekly meetings, create great things and have some fun.

Mentor Bio ( Beholdify )

Beholdify

Hi, I’m Richard, otherwise known online as Beholdify. I’m a web developer and content creator. I’ve spent the last decade building at the intersection of art, code, and creative self-expression. I use a wide variety of AI tools, not as a shortcut, but as a force multiplier for the creative and meaningful projects I am passionate about. These tools amplify my creativity for content creation I already do, such as drawing, writing, video production, motion graphics, making music, crafting lyrics, graphic design and facilitating events.

I used to be a gamer. I played a lot of Unreal Tournament, Grand Theft Auto III and Starcraft. I became the best Starcraft player in my high school and went on to play other schools. I found people didn’t like being beaten, and the competitive aspect was a thrill, but was not winning me any quality friends. Overall I enjoyed playing, but I recognized how much time and attention video games took from me.

I leveled up to become a content creator when I started tapping into gamer energy to do more creative multi-media and video projects. I changed colleges and went to California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB) major in Teledramatic Arts and Technology. This is when I discovered “the filmmaker’s high;” It feels good when an uplifting or informative video project is enjoyed by an audience. The bigger the audience, the better it feels. I learned the rewards of creative self expression are similar to the rewards of gaming. Even better was recognizing the results are cumulative and the benefits are more long term.

Now I get to work on projects that I am passionate about while mentoring others on their creative process.
